seriously against malaria, TB and HIV/AIDS pandemic. 3. Improve the supply of adequate and safe water in rural areas. 4. Address
environmental conservation and promote Environmental Friendly enegy. 5. Provide education to disadvantaged community, vulnerable
children and Youth on vocational training. 6. Collaborate with like minded organization locally and abroad in achieving
the other objectives. STRATEGIES. In achieving these objectives ARSDA Mbozi has the following strategies. • Use available
local resources –Skilled personnel, Members resources, Individual member’s contributions and user fees. • Fund rising-
This is done locally and worldwide through writing proposals, direct support, Grants and Volunteer contributions. • Linkage
and Networking with other like minded organization including Government.
PROGRAMS 1. Promotion of sustainable
agriculture. ARSDA owns a total of 1000 acres of arable land which is suitable for Agriculture, ARSDA plans to invest in agriculture
especially food crops production. This is in our medium term plan since it requires some agro –equipments and agricultural
implements that demands higher investment. In this program we plan to purchase Tractors, with its attachments. This is our
long term plan, however in short term we plan by the season 2010-2011 at least 100 acres of land will be cultivated for pad
production. So far ARSDA has processed lease for this piece of land. The demand of Rice is growing because of the growing
potential market in our border posts where we are bounded with DRC Kongo (in terms of business not geographical) which has
a unrest situation (war), Zambia which also demands larger quantity of rice from Tanzania, while also in domestic market we
have a potential market too with myth or belief that our rice is secondly from the Kyela rice which is reading country wide
for good flavor. Capital required for pad production. The project requires a total Tanzanian shillings 170 Million
equivalent to 150,000 Us Dollars for Setting Irrigation structures, Leveling, cultivation, Seed production and planting. 2.
Promotion of education of excellence. Under this program, ARSDA currently runs a Nursery school and Vocational –Technical
school which both is situated here in Vwawa Township, These institutes provided its services to members of community in Mbozi
District. Striving to provide education of excellence, we lack some equipment to meet this ideal; buildings require renovations,
and teaching tools including technical machines especially for practical subjects. In our short Term these Institution will
carry on providing technical education using internal resources ARSDA have such as hand machines while in our long term plans
we plan to seek for partners in and outside the country to acquire modern workshop equipments and teaching materials. The
courses offered including Carpentry, Motor vehicle mechanics and Tailoring. On other hand ARSDA run a Pre Nursery school
which is located near ARSDA office, currently the school has 30 children’s of which are from Vwawa urban. This is a day care
centre. They receive training and go back to their homes. In future plans we tend to extend these institutes by Building
workshops, administration blocks and dormitories for Vocational technical school worth 1,350,000 US $ This is a long term
plan. 3. Promote sustainable health and Housing. ARSDA is also heavily invest in sustainable heath of community
by introducing a so called Improved housing to attract rural immigrant, we have noticed that one of the factor attracting
youth to emigrate from rural to urban/ townships are favorable life style, good housing condition and seeking for better job,
but on other hand some of the rural-township has started to be changing its features to urban setting Moreover few indicators
are the improved structures of buildings, thus calls more programs aims at improving housing in such areas. The project will
be owned by community through small seed capital to be laid in community, and then members of the group will be contributing
using their seasonal produce and cash. The few emerging rural township focused by this program is Isansa, Igamba, Msia and
Itaka. Because of complexity of program, ARSDA require partners to enhance and extend this program. On other hand ARDA will
be supplying Mosquito Nets and doing fumigation to areas with prone to Malaria, this will help the community to prevent from
Malaria which is a leading killer disease in the Country. The program requires 150 Milion Tanzanian Shillings as a seedling
capital to implement this project. The project planed for implantation by the year 2012-2015. 4. Provide small credits
to peasants especially women and youth. The Housing program will go hand in hand with other small credit programs, this
is because most of member of community lack money in some months of year circle, they usually end up by selling their farm
produce by cheap, half price which lead them to the extremely poverty. One of the examples is the productivity of Coffee in
Mbozi normally is 66,000 Tons per annum but the farmers have a significant minimal changes in their life style, household
improvement and personal spending, because most of them sells their produce while are in farms. Introducing this program will
facilitate in small credit provisional to women groups, youth and least disadvantaged community members including disability
people to empower them economically This program require partners to collaborate during implementation. The project requires
a capital of Tshs 95, Milion equivalent to US $84,000. The implementation is expected from the year 2012-2015. 5.
Water and sanitation. This project require joint venture and partnership in implementing, the statistics shows that the
Mbozi District is among of few rural located District lacking safe and clean water, even through it has a plenty of water
source catchments. That means the only missing is the exploration skills and equipments. Through the planned program ARSDA
plans to implement the shallow and deep wells programs in few selected villages quench their thirst and meet people’s demand,
the program more over planning to focus to the newly built ward secondary schools. Where we think the surrounding community
will have accessed to water by 45% compared to the current status of only 38% of rural inhabitants who have access to clean
and safe water. This program require immediately interventions, proposals for these projects are in hands. The project require
Tshs 80 Milion equivalent to 75,000. US$, the experience from the project undertaken by Lutheran church in collaboration with
Marion –USA has shown significant impact to the community. 6. Environmental conservation and biodiversity ARSDA
currently implementing the program called Make Mbozi Green color. The program aims at planting trees both fruits, shadow and
lumbering purpose to meet both domestic and developmental needs. Currently the ARSDA has its Tree nurseries with which trees
are supplied freely to community with support of the Urban Council authority. It is expected by the end of year 2011 there
will be slight changes of biodiversity and morphological structure of Vwawa urban centre while also the current increased
carbon dioxide emission rate, will be trapped with this natural system which covered by the campaign of tree planting. Our
nurseries are situated in Vwawa area 2 kms from the Mbozi District Council. President Jakaya Kikwete in his speech last year
when he was launching tree planting campaign in Dar es saalam said “lets plant trees like we are psychiatric patient, but
later on we will see the positive impact.
7. Renewable energy/multifunctional platforms (MFP). This program
aims at empowering rural community accessing improved renewable energy systems such as solar, animal dung (biogas) Fixed
assets for ARSDA MBOZI. • 1000 Acres of land at Mpui village of Myunga ward. • 100Acles for building Vocational Training
centre at Mantengu area. • 1 acre for tree nurseries –Ichenjezya –Vwawa urban centre.
